Soham Table Tennis Club

Division 1 champions: 1972-1973 to 1985-1986 inclusive, 1990-1991, 1998-1999.

Soham's golden years began in 1973 with the first of 15 consecutive championship wins. The club maintained no less than four first division teams for five seasons starting in 1978-1979. In 1980-1981 the team of Keith Richardson, Mick Palmer and Andy Withers dropped just 6 sets out of 220.

After leaving their Scout Hut venue in Soham, the club was rapidly reduced to a shell, although the first team continued to challenge strongly for the championship, triumphing twice in the 1990's.

St Neots

St Neots were allowed to join the first division in their first season, where they subsequently held their own, albeit without threatening the leaders. Problems finding players willing to travel in the Cambridge area caused them to drop out.

Founder members of the league, Whittlesford BL played for just one season, finishing in a respectable mid-table position in the first division.

Handicap winners: 1963-1964 (5th team), 1964-1965.

YMCA were founder members of the league and the first champions, with the team of Bill Humphries, Reg Edwards and Ray Barrer.
